Moritz J. Strowitzki, MD, PhD

Moritz studied Medicine at the Heidelberg University , Germany and received his Doctor of Medicine (Dr. med.). Since 2014, he received his surgical training at the Department for General, Visceral & Transplantation Surgery (Head: Professor M. Büchler, MD) of the Heidelberg University. From the start, Moritz was additionally trained in translational science and cellular physiology at the lab of Professor Martin Schneider (Head of the former clinical research unit KFO227, DFG). In 2022, he obtained his PhD from UCD School of Medicine at the Taylor Lab in Dublin. He is now an Attending Surgeon establishing his Emmy Noether Group in Gießen, Germany.

Chris is analyzing the effects of metabolic surgery on hepatic fibrosis. He is currently funded within the JLU CAREER scheme of the DFG.

Mareen Dupovac, BTA ("Founding Member")

Mareen is a founding member of one of the first Emmy Noether Research Groups awarded to a Surgeon in 2008 and still supports us in Heidelberg.
